A few weeks ago, I got a surprise letter from
University of Applied Sciences in Germany, inviting me to take part of their exhibition in type in motion. I crossed my finger hoping everything goes well, and hopefully I will have the chance to see it in person.
I've officially graduated from
School of Visual Arts MFA Design program. The commencement was held at the Radio city Music Hall last Friday, May 15, 2009. Big Kudos, to my fellow
MFA Design classmates who have been standing next to me for all the ups and downs, the drama, and all the late night studio time doing projects that never seems to end. The biggest honor for me to be at SVA is to be able to stand next to these incredibly talented designers. Congratulation to all of us and I missed all of you dearly.
Sometime end of last year, I had a small discussion with
Rafael Esquer's of Alfalfa Studio about our profession as a designer, which in the end is more about filling the story in your "book of life". Whether the book is thick or thin, it just have to be a beautiful book. I and a lot of people who graduated his summer would feel that it's really a dreadful time to graduate. We're right in the middle of economic cathastrophy. Resumes after resume are sent, and most of them leads to no response or "sorry we're not hiring" E-mails. I kept a positive mindset nonetheless. This is just a small chapter in my book. For those who have opportunity open in their company, please do share. So for those of you who are looking for a job, hold your head up high and hang in there. It will be a great one.
